Modern Russian Coins: 2018 FIFA World Cup

Since 1991, the Russian Federation has become an independent state, which was accompanied by the minting of coins with the new Russian ruble. Modern coins are adorned with national symbols, historical and cultural landmarks. In addition to regular coins, Russia also mints commemorative and investment coins made of gold and silver. These coins are issued in limited quantities and are valuable to collectors and investors. These collections reflect important milestones in the country's history – honoring cultural figures, celebrating cultural monuments and architecture, and preserving the memory of significant events. One such collection can be considered the collection of coins dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This year was a landmark for world football: Russia for the first time became the host of the World Cup, which took place in 11 cities. This event was not just a sports festival, but also a reflection of the hospitality and cultural wealth of the country.

Silver Coins with a Face Value of 3 Rubles

For the first time in Russian history, in honor of this football event, polymer banknotes with a face value of 100 rubles were issued. But of particular interest are the commemorative coins, among which are silver coins with a face value of 3 rubles. These coins have become true miniature works of art, reflecting the pride and joy of the nation.

The first series of commemorative coins was released in 2016 and included 6 coins dedicated to the host cities. On these coins, architectural masterpieces, stadiums, and city symbols were displayed. Also, this series included a coin with an image of the coveted Championship Cup and a coin with the FIFA Confederations Cup.

The following year brought another 8 coins, which featured the remaining participating cities and the golden Championship Cup.

Art that Lasts Forever

Although the coins were minted before the championship itself, each of them proudly bears the date "2018". The collection includes 14 silver coins, each of which is a small part of a big celebration that united the whole world.

The coins have become not just souvenirs, but also an investment for collectors and investors, as well as a symbol of global unity through sports.

These coins encapsulate not only the wealth of material but also the richness of culture, national pride, and passion for football. They have become a bridge connecting Russia with the world and an eternal reminder of the importance of cherishing moments of unity and shared joys.
